Recruitment of Scientists in Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM)

The IITM is looking for recruiting bright talented candidates of Indian origin for the following positions to do research in the areas of (i) Development of a Dynamical Prediction System of Seasonal Mean Monsoon Rainfall, (ii) Extended Range Prediction System for Active and Break Spells of the Monsoon, (iii) Science of Climate Change and Climate Variability, and (iv) Interaction between Tropical Convection and Environment. 

Requirements for the posts are as under:

  1. Scientist 'E' - 3 Posts
    Scale of Pay: Rs. 14300 - 400 - 18300 plus allowances admissible to Central Govt. employees stationed at Pune (Total emoluments at minimum of the scale presently amount to Rs.34573/- approx.)
  2. Scientist 'D' - 6 Posts
    Scale of Pay: Rs. 12000 - 375 - 16500 plus allowances admissible to Central Govt. employees stationed at Pune (Total emoluments at minimum of the scale presently amount to Rs. 29,190/- approx.).
  3. Scientist 'C' - 6 Posts
    Scale of Pay: Rs. 10,000-325-15,200 plus allowances admissible to Central Govt. employees stationed at Pune (Total emoluments at minimum of the scale presently amount to Rs.24,510/- approx.)
  4. Scientist 'B' - 5 Posts (2 posts for U.R., 2 posts for O.B.C. and 1 post for S.C.)
    Scale of Pay: Rs. 8,000-275-13,500 plus allowances admissible to Central Govt. employees stationed at Pune (Total emoluments at minimum of the scale presently amount to Rs.19,830/- approx.).
